The Sims 2 compared to the original was far more forgiving (when compared to Hot Date) and the expanded / boosted content made the game solid contender against The Sims 3 for the first one or two expansions, along with offering up decent competition to an ever expanding Sims 4.

What Aspyr have done with Super Collection is pretty good and it runs at full resolution with maximum settings quite comfortably on a 15” Mid 2015 MacBook Pro. The Sims 2 Super Collection may not be fully expanded version Windows users got, but it’s a comprehensive one as wells as being that happy medium between feature complete and stabilty. Sims 4 is probably the most stable at the expence of having a bare bones base game.
Normally I would go for a fully expanded Sims 3 as far as the franchise goes given how feature rich it is. The happy medium Sims experience for Macintosh!
